In rural Minnesota, the arts are not a luxury but a lifeline. For those of us living outside the major metro areas, having access to creative spaces that foster connection, opportunity, and cultural vitality close to home is essential. The Armory Arts & Events Center is proud to be the hub of Park Rapids--a place where music spills out from the Main Stage, and where everyone is welcome to come together and enjoy a common experience.
When we think about what makes a community thrive, it is often these shared experiences that stand out the most. Live music has the power to dissolve boundaries. Whether you are a lifelong resident of the area or just visiting for the weekend, if you are at the Armory for a show, we are all simply music lovers sharing a moment.
Our vision at the Armory is to bring these high-quality, creative experiences to our area of Minnesota, ensuring that you don't have to drive for hours to enjoy great music.
CLOSING OUT THE 2025-2026 SEASON
Before we look ahead, we have on incredible show left to cap off our current season. On May 20, 2026, the legendary PK Mayo takes the stage. https://pkmayo.com/ A native son of northern Minnesota who grew up in the mining town of Eveleth, PK May (Paul Kennedy Mayasich) is a true master of the acoustic and electric slide guitar. His music is a quilt built of what is today called the Americana genre: a satisfying brew of country, rock, blues, and folk. Having played behind a veritable who's who of rock, blues and jazz royalty, his rare touch, feel and dynamism on the instrument--combined with soulful vocals and accomplished original songwriting --make him the complete package. It is no surprise he holds a rightful place in both the Minnesota Blues Hall of Fame and the Minnesota Rock & Country Hall of Fame, this is a season finale you will not want to miss.
